So this form always confused me...does vegeta ever achieve this form ? And do Goku and gohan ever show this form other than in the cell games? This form seems only relevant during the cell games IMO... What's your guy's thoughts? |

I believe he does and that pretty much everyone does, it becomes irrelevant in that it's the standard after Cell Saga. Even Goten and Trunks appear to be in it or at least there appears to be very little strain on their forms. And as Gotenks being in SSj doesn't affect the time limit at all. |

I believe Vegeta and Trunks both achieved the form at CG, looking at the manga scans SSJ Vegeta CG looks different than ASSJ Vegeta. And i dont think the form becomes irrelevant, its just that everyone who is a SSJ can now master the form. |

Given how 1) Vegeta and Trunks seem to both stick to Super Saiyan 1 during the Cell Games, and 2) Vegeta spends plenty of time here and there in the Boo arc as a Super Saiyan while relaxed, I'd say that yes, he did achieve it. I personally think it's a strict prerequisite for Super Saiyan 2 anyway, so he'd HAVE to achieve it at some point. Like others have said, it just becomes the default version of the form for himself, Goku, and Gohan during the Boo arc. |

Yes, Vegeta and Trunks most likely achieved Super Saiyajin Full Power based in the reasons Kaboom pointed out. To add on to what he said though, Trunks clearly has the SSJFP aura when he traveled back to the future, and that happens 1 day after Cell Games. The reason they aren't as powerful as Goku is because both didn't spar with each other, which creates large gains in a short amount of time. Trunks even points to the fact that sparring is a very effective method of increasing one's strength:

The form was relevant during the Cell Games because it was the newest model, so to speak. It became irrelevant as soon as Gohan ascended. Everyone in the Boo arc appeared to have it, from the kids to the adults. It just became the default. Narrative-wise, it would be redundant having the kids go through that process and making a big deal out of it when Super Saiyan 2 and 3, and Fusion and Potara were being introduced one after the other. |

I'm pretty sure they all had it during the buu saga. Why wouldn't they after seeing what it did for goku? How do we know it wasn't just a change in animation though? The animation did change a lot throughout the series

I think pretty much everyone had MSSJ by the Buu Arc with every Saiyan having MSSJ traits and using the form with ease. By the Buu Arc though, I don't think Toriyama really cared about the differences between MSSJ and regular SSJ or at least he didn't care enough to distinguish the two forms. |

Realistically after Cell, Super Saiyan and by extension Ascended Saiyan is virtually irrelevant. The whole last two seasons are Saiyan Ascended Further Beyond and Fusion. And briefly Mystic. None of which were useful of course, but my point is I don't think that anyone else bothered with this "MSSJ" because it just didn't matter. | |

You mean because MSSJ is stronger than normall SSJ, or because it helps at the training to make better gains? |

The in-depth training analysis section in one of the Super Exciting Guide books actually listed "staying in Super Saiyan" as a huge boon to Goku's training in the Room of Spirit and Time. It would seem that mastering the form that way not only makes it much easier to use, but also lets you get a lot more out of training. I suspect that training as a Super Saiyan already grants better gains than normal, but it was limited and impractical to do so until the form was mastered and could be used freely. But once Goku fixed that problem, he was able to train to his heart's content in the form without wasting energy just maintaining the form itself. |

Both. I don't think Vegeta and Trunks had it in the Cell Games. Vegeta would be too proud to copy Goku initially and Trunks was inexperienced and probably just thought he could get more out of his SSG2 and didn't want to undermine his father. However, after Goku's death Vegeta had little else to do. Goku was actually kind of foolish only going 50% to Korin. Going 100% probably would have further motivated Vegeta and Trunks to utilize his form and spar each other. |

My friends; I'll add my take. MSSJ and SSJ are one in the same. MSSJ merely means that SSJ has been "mastered". A mastered Super Saiyan isn't as tolled by transitioning into or maintaining the Super Saiyan state. IMO, Super Saiyan max feels like base max now. Hi k boom. |
